In October 2012, there were 27 speeding tickets issued in Sullivan County through the Fine Collection Center (FCC). This was only 80th out of 115 Missouri counties and 93rd per capita. FCC speeding tickets are issued on state highways by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and in some instances by the local sheriff’s department. In Sullivan County, the main highways are Missouri Route 5 (MO-5) and MO-6 that runs through Milan.

If you have been issued an FCC speeding ticket in Sullivan County, you have 30 days to either plead guilty and pay the fine or to plead not guilty and begin fighting the charge. You can access the FCC’s website here.If you plead guilty, a conviction will go on your driving record and 3 points will be added to your driving license (it only takes 8 to be suspended.) A conviction will also be visible to your insurance company who will usually raise your rates. On the other hand, if you decide to fight your case you will have to appear in front of the Circuit Judge at Sullivan County Courthouse in Milan, Missouri.
